Success Breed Success

We all dream of one day achieving success. One day, we all want that feeling that screams: “I did it!”

Success doesn’t just appear; success is more like a spark - that moment in your mind when you dream of doing something and jump into action to bring that idea to life. Success ignites confidence, fuels ambition, and lights the path to even greater victories for you. To get to where we want to be, high achievers, we must understand that each win comes with momentum. We don’t just jump to our winnings; we go through a lot of processes to get to our winnings. One breakthrough leads to another, not because of luck, but because when we look at success, we look at how it changes us. How success changes how we think, how we act, and believe. Success builds this sense of possibility that fuels our further risk-taking, our growth, and our determination! It fuels the sense of “Wow, maybe I can do this, and I’m going to try!” In this article,Success breeds Success,” we will explore how we can achieve Success in the Real Estate Business!

So, where do we start? We start by building a Foundation.

What are your goals and strategies? Remember to breed success, we need to start small and build momentum. Let's create an example, a 12-week goal-setting plan with action plans.

Have goals set out for you, set up timelines when you want to achieve them, but remember to use the SMART technique! Our Smart technique consists of the following:

  • Specific

  • Measurable

  • Achievable

  • Relevant

  • Time-bound

Weeks 1 to 4 - Build foundation:

You start learning the basics about real estate, then start to build your network and lay the groundwork for lead generation. What action steps can we take to reach our first month’s goals?

  • Pick a ‘category’ to start on, some call it a Niche, such as residential, rentals, first-time buyers, sales, etc. This will help you to focus on learning and marketing.

  • To gain knowledge on this foundation you are building, you have to study the market, spend time on the internet to study the market, and acknowledge the prices, the neighborhood, and the trends.

  • For you to be out there, you have to set up your Online profile, whether it’s Instagram or Facebook. I mean, what can I say, we are a world of technology and social media.

  • Start building networks with other professionals, connect with friends in the real estate industry, and start around if they know of anyone buying/selling.

  • And the last point of our first month, start learning. Read books on real estate, do a course, and read an article. Gain knowledge and insights.

Weeks 5 to 8 - Grow your Reach:

In the following weeks, you start to get leads, you build your visibility and credibility, and you improve your knowledge and skills.

  • For you to grow your reach, you need to expand your social media profile and platform, and how do you do that? You start by posting 2 to 3 times a week. Anything real estate related that you have learned about or read about, maybe like a local market update or tips for first-time buyers, etc.

  • Then you can start by attending any networking events related to real estate.

  • Another thing that can help you grow your reach is starting an email list. Gather people’s email addresses when you meet them and share your monthly newsletter with them; that way, you are also starting to form a connection.

  • Learn by watching a professional and asking questions. By asking questions, you show that you have an interest and are willing to expand your knowledge.

Weeks 9 to 12 - Building Authority and converting Leads:

This is where you build momentum with your marketing. This is where success starts building, because you start closing deals and getting serious leads, and where you grow your reputation.

  • This is where you create a website or landing page that includes your bio, contact details, and testimonials from previous successful leads and deals.

  • You can run a small Facebook or email campaign where you send monthly newsletters.

  • Most importantlyfollow up the leads promptly, like for example making a CRM spreadsheet, with notes and following up dates.

  • You are allowed to ask for testimonials and referrals.

I know of two people who wanted to stay fit and healthy and decided to start running daily, also to mention the lady was in her late 50s, and the man in his 60s, when they started this.

They followed this 10-week running program, which you do, and the result is that you will be able to run 5km. So you start on week one, the program says Monday, you start with a 5-minute walk, a 2-minute run, and a 5-minute walk. Tuesday, you do instead of a 2-minute run, you do a 3-minute run. On Wednesdays and Fridays, they relax for the first week, but on Saturdays, they have to do a certain number of minutes of walking.

And so every week the minutes become more, and they build more stamina and endurance.

By week 10, they were able to run the 5 km, but sometimes the lady gets tired and she walks. The guy has run a couple of comrades marathons in the past, many years ago, so he got pretty quickly into the whole running thing.

My focus here is on the lady. She told me that she struggled so much to complete this program. She started this program a little bit before December of 2023, and she always got to just before the 9-minute run, which was week 4. And the program states that you have to redo the week if you cannot complete that week. She then stopped for a while, and in the year 2024, she tried again a couple more times, but still couldn’t get past week 4. Eventually, she and her husband started together in December 2024. And guess what? She did it, she completed the 10-week program in January 2025. And they did their first 5 km parkrun that first Saturday in February 2025! They are so dedicated to what they have achieved that every Saturday, they do their parkrun. They also participated in the Selati 10 km run a couple of weeks ago.

Yes, it took longer than a year for her to reach that success in her life at almost 60 years old, but she did it! She didn’t let failure get her down; instead, she pushed back at failure. And now my husband and I have started the program, and we are on week six. I still walk a little bit when I get tired, but the point is, we are doing it!

The point of this story is that success doesn’t just happen; it doesn’t just appear. You start small and slowly, bit by bit, you reach success!

How can you breed success not just in the Real Estate Industry but in your life as well?

Here is how:

  • Define what success means to you.

  • Does it mean financial freedom? Balance?

  • Adopt a Growth Mindset

  • See challenges as chances ot grow and not as threats.

  • Don’t fear failure, learn from it!

  • Take consistent action

  • Discipline beats motivation. (Referring to my story, she was disciplined enough that motivation didn’t matter anymore!)

  • Start small but aim high!

  • Build high-value skills

  • Identify what skills are in demand in your field or goal

  • Learn deeply, but practice deliberately

  • Surround yourself with the right people

  • Mentors, allies, professionals.

  • Have you ever heard the saying: “You become who you surround yourself with”

  • Avoid any toxic influences that drain your energy.

  • Master your inner world

  • Master your health and emotional intelligence.

  • Resilience is your superpower

  • You are going to face rejection and setbacks, but remember that it is part of the game. If all of us never got setbacks or rejected, this world would be completely different than what it is today, and no one who know how to deal with rejections and setbacks.

  • Build mental toughness - push through discomfort

  • Adapt and Evolve

  • The world changes, don’t stay stuck where you are.

  • Stay updated.

In conclusion, I want to say, you got this! And I want to leave with this quote:

“If you can’t give excellent service, don’t expect excellent results!”
